Zayn brought with him an aura of pure innocence, filling every heart that met him with hope and joy.
With hearts heavy yet grateful for the gift of his brief presence, we remember and honor the life of Zayn Prince Nyjai Marshall. Born on February 20, 2026, in Savannah, Georgia, Zayn brought with him an aura of pure innocence, filling every heart that met him with hope and joy. His life, though far too short, was a beacon of love and connection—an eternal light that will never dim in the memory of those who cherished him.
Zayn’s time on this earth ended on July 5, 2026, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Though his days were few, they were filled with immeasurable meaning for his family, who surrounded him with profound love from his very first breath. In those fleeting months, Zayn’s gentle presence reached deep into the souls of his family members, strengthening their bonds and etching unforgettable memories into their lives.
Left to forever carry Zayn in their hearts is his devoted mother, Mechelle Marshall. She brought him into a world of warmth and boundless love—a love that will echo eternally. Zayn was further encircled with care by his loving grandparents Janelle & Robert Johns (PaPaw), and Jovonnie Marshall. Great-grandparents Sheldria & Willie Wallace, each holding a special place in his story, offering guidance and tenderness. His older brother, Zayden Marshall, shares an irreplaceable connection and the unique bond that only siblings understand.
The family tapestry is woven even further with Zayn’s loving aunts & uncles La'Sheldria Wallace, Monika Wallace, Luka Johns, Marquis Wallace, Milik Wallace, Terron Dixon, & Great Aunt La'Sheldria Jones (Bryant Jones) who all eagerly embraced Zayn into their hearts. Together, their hopes and dreams for him will live on, carried forward as cherished memories.
His memory is a gentle reminder of the preciousness of life, the enduring strength of family, and the beauty found even in the briefest of moments.
As the family gathers to honor Zayn’s memory, they also recall those ancestors and relatives who preceded him and now welcome him with open arms. Among them are his great-great grandparents Walter & Laura Billups, Wille Sr. & Asilee Wallace, great-grandparents Essie White and Jerry Johns; Great Uncle Justin Johns, his uncles, Willie Burton, Freddie Cunningham, Larry Wallace, Clarence Billups, and Bobbie McClure; and his aunts, Inez Burton, Deborah Goldman, and Bessie Dozier. In their loving presence, Zayn rests peacefully, enveloped in generations of care.
The depth of Zayn’s impact—though measured in months rather than years—is immeasurable. Hearts grew, faith was strengthened, and love deepened because he was here. His memory is a gentle reminder of the preciousness of life, the enduring strength of family, and the beauty found even in the briefest of moments.
As we mourn his passing, we choose also to celebrate Zayn Prince Nyjai Marshall’s gift to us all: the opportunity to love unreservedly, to hold each other close, and to honor every moment together. May the Marshall/Johns and Wallace families find solace in their memories and the embrace of all who loved Zayn.
His story, though short, will be retold with tenderness for generations, and his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives he brightened.
