Obituary

Arthur Hennigan Jr., born on January 1, 1966, left us on August 13, 2026. His journey through life was filled with deep devotion to family, lasting friendships, and enduring love—a legacy his family and all who knew him will carry forth with the utmost tenderness.

From the beginning, Arthur shone as someone steadfast and caring. His life was deeply intertwined with the lives of so many, forging bonds that shaped the very heart of his family. At the center of Arthur's world was his beloved spouse, Lorene Hennigan, who stood beside him through joys and tribulations alike. Their partnership was a testament to mutual respect, compassion, and unwavering support.

Arthur's role as a father was a source of immense pride. His daughter, Shaunette Wilcher, was continually uplifted by his wisdom and loving presence, a beacon through every milestone. As a brother, Arthur cherished his siblings—Rosalind Hennigan Stagg and her husband Jerry, Tara Hennigan, Crystal Thomas and her husband James, Saleem Nason Queen, and Bertina Chisley. The unity and affection within this close-knit family lived at the core of Arthur’s life, each gathering a celebration of connection and shared memory.

Arthur also moved through the world as an uncle to many: Bridgett Steele, Robbin Peterson Jackson, Chantel Jenkins, Stacey Jenkins, Angel Chisley, Junie Chisley, Stefone Chisley, Tiffiney Chisley, John Harris, and Melquon Turner. His nephews and nieces remember an uncle whose encouragement and infectious optimism could illuminate even the most challenging day. Each story, each laugh, and each lesson shared is now a precious treasure to those he guided with such a gentle hand.

Arthur extended his heart and spirit generously to his in-laws, forming close relationships with Lula Mae Miller and Eddie Lee Miller Sr., both of whom he regarded as second parents, and to all the Miller family: Eddie Mae, Brenda, Pearlie, Linda, Eddie Lee Jr., Earnest, Michael, Anthony, Betty, and Jermaine. In their company, he found a second family, nurturing strong bonds built on trust and affection.

The roots of Arthur’s kindness and resolve can be traced to those who came before him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Malinda Chisley Hennigan, and father, Arthur Hennigan Sr., whose loving spirits live on in the many lessons Arthur carried forward. The loss of his niece, Shavonna Jenkins, was felt deeply, but her memory remained close to his heart, honored through his steadfast care for all his family.

Arthur’s life was defined not merely by the years he spent, but by the depth of his connections and the profound way he touched those around him. He was a confidant, a protector, and a friend, always ready with a listening ear or a helping hand. Arthur’s capacity for love left an indelible mark on every person fortunate enough to know him, and his legacy endures in their stories, laughter, and quiet moments of remembrance.

Though the ache of his absence runs deep, those he leaves behind find solace in the example he set—a life anchored in devotion and generosity of spirit. As we mourn the passing of Arthur Hennigan, we also celebrate a life so dearly lived, cherishing every memory and honoring the legacy that will continue to inspire those who follow.

May Arthur rest in gentle peace, cradled by the love of family and friends forever.
